“AEW Dynamite” couldn’t continue the gains following the All In edition of the show, with both viewership and ratings falling by a significant margin.
The September 9 “Dynamite,” the special “Rebel Heart” show for AEW star Rebel, saw viewership fall from the previous week’s 796,000 to 571,000 — a near-30% fall, according to “Wrestlenomics.” The number is also lower than the show’s four-week average, which stood at 708,000 ahead of the episode. The show, held in Athens, Georgia, also saw the 18-49 key demographic fall by a significant margin, dropping from 0.15 for the September 2 show to 0.10 for last week’s episode. This metric, again, is lower than the four-week average, which was 0.14 ahead of the show.
“Dynamite” has seen an upward trend in viewership and ratings over the last few weeks, with viewership rising from 634,000 at the start of July to a high of 796,000 for the post-All In show on September 2. The ratings, meanwhile, peaked on the August 26 show — the go-home show for All In — which had a rating of 0.18.
The show featured two title matches and one eliminator match, with Swerve Strickland and The New Level retaining their Trios title against The Conglomeration, while Andrade el Idolo continued his National Championship reign after defeating The Beast Mortos. AEW World Champion Will Ospreay was also successful on the night, winning his eliminator match against David Finlay.
