WWE NXT Results 9/15 – Triple Threat Number One Contenders Match, Public Apology & More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s results for “WWE NXT” on September 15, 2026, coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

Tony D’Angelo, Saquon Shugars, and Mason Rook will be colliding with one another in a Triple Threat Number One Contenders Match for Grayson Waller’s NXT Championship. Waller watched on from ringside as D’Angelo, Shugars, and Rook defeated Cruz Montana, EK Prosper, and Keanu Carver in a Six Man Tag Team Match during last Tuesday’s episode of “NXT” to earn their spots in tonight’s match. The closing moments of last Tuesday’s match featured Rook tagging himself to steal the pin from D’Angelo much to D’Angelo’s frustration and an angry Montana and Carver brawling with one another on the entrance ramp.

Myles Borne will be issuing a public apology to his former best friend Tavion Heights. Borne has shown remorse and regret on his X page for blindsiding Heights with a Borne Again at “NXT” Heatwave on August 30, and appeared in the crowd during last Tuesday’s show to stare down Heights moments after Heights had unsuccessfully challenged Vanity Project’s Jackson Drake for the North American Championship. He was spotted later that night backstage talking to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, who advised him to hold off on his apology.

Osiris Griffin and Cutler James of DarkState will be joining forces with one another to go head-to-head with Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux. Legacy and Van Dux will surely be looking to redeem themselves after coming up short against Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno on the September 1 episode of “NXT” in both of their most recent matches. Additionally, Lizzy Rain will be going one-on-one with Kali Armstrong following a brief backstage verbal confrontation between the pair last Tuesday.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Lizzy Rain makes her way to the ring, Kali Armstrong follows.

The bell rings and Armstrong delivers a bodyslam to Rain. She follows it up with a Hip Toss and a second bodyslam, but Rain rolls up Armstrong. Armstrong kicks out, but Rain connects with a spinning back heel kick on Armstrong and delivers a kick to her through the middle rope.

Rain dumps Armstrong back inside the ring, but Armstrong delivers a knee to Rain’s midsection as Rain is draped across the turnbuckle. She follows it up with a flying clothesline to Rain and fires off right hands on her, but Rain delivers an Angle Slam to Armstrong back from the break and fires off open palm strikes on Armstrong.

Rain catches Armstrong with a cutter and pins her, but Armstrong kicks out and the two women teeter on the ropes. Rain catches Armstrong with a hurricanrana, but Armstrong lands a powerslam on Rain and runs the ropes. Rain intercepts Armstrong to level her and sets up for Thunder Struck, but Armstrong runs the ropes and delivers the Kali Connection to her for the win.

Winner: Kali Armstrong

After the match, Skylar Raye appears out of nowhere and rains down right hands on Armstrong.

DarkState then makes their way out. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux follow.

Legacy and Cutler James begin the action. The bell rings and Legacy levels James with a dropkick. He rocks him with a right hand, but Griffin and Van Dux tag in. Van Dux delivers a chop to Griffin’s chest and lands a clothesline on the back of his neck.

James dumps Van Dux back in the ring during the commercial break when the action has spilled out of the ring and jams his knee into Van Dux’s throat. Legacy tags in and looks to fly off the ropes, but Griffin delivers a scoop powerslam to him and tags out to James. Griffin tosses Legacy over to James for him to level Legacy with a pop-up uppercut, but Griffin tags back in.

Van Dux tags in as we see Grayson Waller running on the treadmill and watching the action. James pulls Van Dux off the top rope and tags out to Griffin, but Legacy tags in and delivers a dive to level James on the outside. He delivers a dive to Griffin through the middle rope on the outside side of the ring and continues landing dives on both men through the middle rope, but Van Dux tags in and lands a moonsault off the ropes to take out Griffin.

Dion Lennox appears out of nowhere and levels Van Dux with a clothesline as the referee is looking away. Griffin and James take advantage and deliver a double powerbomb to Van Dux for the win.

Winners: DarkState

After the match, BirthRight appears in the ring and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo puts the “NXT” roster on notice. BirthRight beats down Legacy and Van Dux on the outside, but Zilla Fatu runs out to the ring to take out BirthRight and come to Legacy and Van Dux’s aid. Zilla levels Charlie Dempsey with Triple Z.

Borne calls Heights out to the ring, and he makes his way out. Borne tells Heights he appreciates him coming to the ring, and Heights says he’s been through a lot with Borne. He says brothers fight, but Borne crossed the line by attacking him at “NXT” Heatwave”. Borne says he jumped the gun and was emotional on August 30, then says he didn’t want to be the one caught slacking and admits he acted out of fear at Heatwave. He says he needs Heights to see where he’s coming from and says he’s sorry, but Heights says Borne is telling him to trust him after kicking him while he’s down.

Heights says he lost the first title he’s ever won in WWE without his brother or best friend, then says he had no one. Borne says himself and Heights beat down Vanity Project and he welcomed Heights back with open arms to go on to winning the NXT Tag Team Championship, then says when he’s with Heights, no one can stop us.

Borne asks for Heights’ forgiveness, and Heights admits that maybe he wasn’t focused or planted some seeds of doubt. Borne says he can’t take what he did back and says he loves Heights like a brother, and Heights forgives Borne.

The two men hug, but Borne blindsides Heights with Borne again and sends him crashing through the barricade screen on the outside. He dumps Heights back inside the ring and slides Heights’ ankle in a chair, then stomps on the chair to target Borne’s ankle.

We then head over to Kendal Grey meeting with a doctor as Wren Sinclair stands by. The doctor tells Sinclair that her injured ear is affecting her balance and makes it clear she thinks Grey needs further help. 

Back at ringside, Cruz Montana and EK Prosper make their way out. Vanity Project follows. 

The bell rings and Baylor wears down Propser with a front face lock. Prosper delivers a single leg kick to Baylor and tags out to Montana. Smokes tags in on his side, but Montana delivers a chop to Smokes.

Montana uses Prosper as a launching pad to land a moonsault on Smokes, and Prosper uses Montana as a launching pad to level Baylor and Smokes with a double dropkick. Prosper connects with a Frog Splash on Smokes and pins him, but Smokes kicks out and Montana tags in.

Baylor delivers a kick to Montana’s head, but Montana rolls up Smokes. Smokes kicks out, but Montana delivers a Death Valley Driver to him and tags out to Prosper. Baylor tags in on his side, but Prosper levels him with a clothesline and delivers a springboard moonsault to him off the ropes.

Prosper ascends to the top rope, then lands a blockbuster on Baylor and goes for a pin. Baylor kicks out and delivers a shotgun dropkick to Prosper, then tags in Smokes. Prosper levels Smokes with a Shining Wizard and tags out to Montana, who sits Smokes on the top rope with Prosper. The two men join Smokes on the ropes, but Baylor comes to Smokes’ aid. Prosper delivers a hurricanrana to Smokes and Montana catches him mid-air with a powerbomb.

Montana and Prosper deliver dives though the middle rope on opposite sides of the ring to take out Baylor and Smokes. Jackson Drake appears out of nowhere to take down Montana, but the referee figures out what’s happened and ejects Drake and Lockwood from ringside. Inside the ring, Smokes rolls up Prosper and Baylor holds his feet from the ring apron for the win.

Winners: Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes

Kelani Jordan then makes her way to the ring.

Jordan says she should’ve known when she won her NXT Women’s Championship on her first try, then says she put a sour taste in a lot of people’s mouth but she still puts her money where her mouth is. She calls out Wren Sinclair and says she stepped out of line to lead to her suspension all as she debuted on “WWE Raw” last night.

AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina’s music hits and she makes her way out. She says she wants to take women’s wrestling to the next level, but Zaria’s music hits and she makes her way out. She says she doesn’t see Catalina or Jordan unifying titles, but Catalina brings up Thea Hail to Zaria. Hail’s music hits and she makes her way out. She says it’s easy to count her out, but the people have watched her grow up and makes it clear she wants to be a two time Women’s North American Championship. Zaria clocks Hail as Jordan brawls with Catalina, and Hail and Catalina deliver double Hip Attacks to Jordan and Zaria.

We then head over to a video posted to Shiloh Hill’s X page, where he shows himself experimenting on Naraku’s mist.

We then head over to Robert Stone’s office, where he announces that he’s planning on bringing back the Dusty Rhodes Classic with teams from “NXT”, “WWE Raw”, “WWE SmackDown”, and AAA. He reveals the brackets will be revealed on social media later this week. 

Saquon Shugars then makes his way to the ring. Tony D’Angelo and Mason Rook follow.

The bell rings and Rook gets in ‘s face. Shugars tries to intervene, but D’Angelo and Rook send him crashing out of the ring. D’Angelo rolls up Rook, but Rook kicks out and D’Angelo spears him. Shugars then looks to fly out of the ring, but D’Angelo intercepts him with a right hand. Shugars catches D’Angelo with a hurricanrana and connects with a swinging neckbreaker on him, then goes for a pin but D’Angelo kicks out.

Rook levels D’Angelo with a clothesline, then lands a bodyslam him before he bodyslams Shugars on top of D’Angelo and delivers a running senton to both men. D’Angelo then grabs a chair from under the ring, but Shugars knocks it out of D’Angelo’s hand. Rook runs over Shugars with a big boot to send him crashing off the air, but D’Angelo cinches in a sleeper on Rook back inside the ring. Shugars then cinches in a sleeper of his own on D’Angelo.

Rook levels D’Angelo with a crossbody, but Shugars flies off the middle ropes to deliver a double Sunset Flip to D’Angelo and Rooks. Shugars connects with a split legged leg drop on Rook from the ring apron, but Rook rocks D’Angelo with a right hand. D’Angelo rolls up Rook, but Rook kicks out and D’Angelo sends him crashing into the mat spine first. Shugars rolls up D’Angelo with his feet on the ropes, but the referee catches him and stops the count. Shugars then levels D’Angelo with a kick to his face, but D’Angelo clotheslines Rook out of the ring and gets him in a bodyslam position.

Shugars levels D’Angelo and Rook by flying off the ring steps to land a double stomps on them, then ascends to the top rope. Rook trips Shugars and delivers a cannonball to D’Angelo in the corner, but Shugars delivers a Tornado DDT to Rook out of the corner and lands a splash on him. He goes for a pin, but Tristan Angels runs out to pull the referee out of the ring to stop the count.

Shugars flies over the top rope to level Angels on the outside, but Rook lands a spinning slam on D’Angelo and ascends to the top rope. He connects with a Frog Splash on D’Angelo and pins him for the win.

Winner (and new Number One Contender): Mason Rook

Finally fishing the half marathon he’s been running on a treadmill throughout the show, Grayson Waller’s music hits and he jogs to the ring. He stares down Rook with his NXT Championship in hand as the show goes off the air.
