Fans hoping to see Kendal Grey back in a “WWE NXT” ring might have to wait a little longer for it to happen.

Taking to X, the former NXT Women’s Champion revealed that she had received a health update on Tuesday. Based on her wording and choice of emoji, however, it doesn’t seem to have been a good one.

“Got some news today…looks like the doctors are still not on my side,” she wrote alongside a face-with-diagonal-mouth emoji, which typically expresses disappointment or uncertainty.

Grey last wrestled at “NXT” Heatwave on August 30. There, she unsuccessfully defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Kelani Jordan, and in the process, suffered repeated trauma to her head. As later relayed by “NXT” commentator Vic Joseph on September 1, WWE’s medical team ruled out any form of concussion from the contact. Grey was, however, diagnosed with vertigo, a vestibular disruption associated with a loss of balance and sudden feeling of spinning. She was also announced as being out of action for the foreseeable future as a result.

In Grey’s absence, her ally Wren Sinclair sought retribution by attacking Jordan with a kendo stick on last week’s episode of “NXT.” Her actions, which also included her striking a referee, resulted in a suspension, meaning she and Grey will both be away from the “NXT” brand for an undisclosed amount of time now. Jordan, on the other hand, is coming off a successful first title defense against Jaida Parker and an impressive showing in a Women’s Money in the Bank qualifier.
