Adrian Yanez sent former champion Cody Garbrandt to another painful knockout loss at UFC 329.
Saturday’s preliminary bantamweight bout between Yanez and Garbrandt ended with Yanez adding to his highlight reel as he battered Garbrandt with punches to force a stoppage less than three minutes into the opening round.

Both fighters entered their Las Vegas showdown in need of a win, with Yanez having won just one of his past five fights, and Garbrandt looking to capitalize on a foul-ridden decision victory over Xiao Long. It was Yanez who took the initiative, walking Garbrandt down and giving “No Love” little time to find his rhythm.
Midway through Round 1, Yanez hurt Garbrandt with a counter right, but Garbrandt recovered quickly. However, another counter right sent Garbrandt stumbling and Yanez went in for the kill. Yanez shrugged off Garbrandt’s attempt to clinch, winging haymakers up high that connected and sent Garbrandt face-down towards the mat. Referee Herb Dean stepped in for the save at the 2:47 mark of the opening round.
Yanez (18-6-1) wins for the first time since a knockout of Vinicius Salvador in May 2024. In his previous outing at UFC Seattle, Yanez went to a majority draw with Ricky Simon. His UFC record now stands at 7-3-1.
For Garbrandt (15-8), this is his latest disappointing performance. The onetime bantamweight king has now lost eight of his past 13 fights.
