UFC veterans Conor McGregor and King Green will wear custom fight shorts when they enter the octagon Saturday to compete at UFC 329 in Las Vegas, the promotion’s exclusive apparel partner Venum revealed Monday.
McGregor, who headlines the July 11 card against Max Holloway, will wear shorts with “elements that reflect his personal journey and Irish roots,” Venum explained. Gorilla motif refers to the Straight Blast Gym logo and tiger stripes for his tattoo. According to the apparel company, “the four Celtic four-leaf clovers represent his four children, a Celtic cross symbolizing his faith, and green, white, and orange accents drawn from the Irish flag.”
Green’s custom shorts for his lightweight clash with Terrance McKinney has paisley-based design that draws inspiration “from his upbringing in the Inland Empire and from personal influences that reflect his background and experiences,” according to Venum.
McGregor was seen waring another custom shorts in camp for UFC 329, one with dollar bills covering it entirely.
All three shorts are for sale on Venum’s website from $114.99 to $129.99.
