At AEW All Out, Steven Borden made his in-ring pay-per-view debut alongside Darby Allin in a No. 1 contender’s match for the tag titles against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. During the match, Knight and Borden would collide mid-air, leaving Borden injured. After being checked on by Doc Sampson, the match ended and Borden was stretchered out. During the pay-per-view, Tony Schiavone let fans at home and in the arena know that Borden was awake and headed to the hospital.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Borden. “He’s okay. I didn’t hear if he flew home but I was told that he was going to be able to fly home,” he said. During the postshow scrum, Tony Khan said Borden’s tests and CT scan came back good. Khan also said that Borden would be able to fly home the following day on Sunday.
After Borden’s injury, many fans took to social media trying to decide who was to blame for Borden doing the spot. Ricochet weighed in and said people get hurt on both high and low risk spots and it’s an unfortunate aspect of getting in the ring. He encouraged others to hope for Borden to continue getting better.
