The WBC junior middleweight champion says PBC’s new DAZN partnership clears the path for a clash with unified champion Jaron Ennis
Sebastian Fundora believes an undisputed fight with Jaron Ennis is now within reach after PBC’s landmark partnership with DAZN. The WBC junior middleweight champion says the new agreement removes one of the biggest barriers to making the division’s defining championship fight.
“PBC was the last missing piece on DAZN. Now that all the 154-pound champions are on DAZN, let’s get an undisputed champion.
“Now all of these big fights are the most realistic. We’re all on the same platform, so now’s the time. Jaron Ennis is the one calling me out, so he’d be the guy I want to face soon,” said Fundora.
The comments came shortly after PBC and DAZN officially announced their long-term partnership, which will bring PBC events to DAZN beginning later this month. The agreement places many of boxing’s biggest promoters and champions on the same streaming platform, eliminating one of the logistical hurdles that has often complicated major fights.
Fundora currently holds the WBC junior middleweight title, while Ennis recently unified two belts at 154 pounds. Ennis has repeatedly expressed interest in facing Fundora, making an undisputed championship fight one of the division’s biggest potential matchups.
Although no negotiations have been announced, Fundora’s comments suggest he believes the new broadcasting arrangement has cleared the path toward making the fight. If both champions remain victorious in their upcoming appearances, pressure is likely to build for one of the division’s most significant bouts to be made next.
