Ryan Garcia’s war of words with Devin Haney escalated again on Sunday after Haney questioned his latest claims about drug testing.
Haney responded to Garcia’s interview by pointing to his own history as a world champion, suggesting Garcia’s insistence that he has been undergoing testing did not erase the controversy surrounding their rivalry.
“I was a WBC champion for years never been tested once,” Haney wrote on X.
Haney’s post came after Garcia insisted during a recent interview that he has been enrolled in year-round testing and accused both Haney and Shakur Stevenson of unfairly reviving the subject.
Ryan quickly fired back, saying he had been tested just one day earlier and warning Haney to stop making public accusations or risk legal action. He maintained that his latest test is further proof he has nothing to hide despite the continued scrutiny surrounding the subject.
“Again you are an idiot, and now you are pissing me off, I just got tested yesterday,” Garcia said in response. “Either you shut the f* up or Ima do a Haney and send a cease and desist letter.”
Ryan’s sarcastic threat mocked the legal letter Bill Haney sent during their past feud, turning it into another shot at his longtime rival. Garcia also stood firm on his insistence that he has continued testing, rejecting any suggestion that drug use remains an issue. His latest comment suggests that this bitter grudge match is nowhere near finished as both fighters refuse to back down.
