While WWE’s Roxanne Perez has had success as a tag team wrestler during her main roster tenure, she has still yet to have a definitive moment as a singles wrestler. But that could all change if she were to get her wish of having a marquee match with part-time WWE star AJ Lee. In an interview with “MuscleManMalcolm,” Perez was asked about Lee saying she would like to return to WWE to do “something new,” and whether Perez could be that new opponent. Perez not only welcomed being Lee’s next rival, but she also revealed she would like to be Lee’s last rival.
“Yes, 100%,” Perez said. “I would love to wrestle AJ Lee, and I would love to retire Miss AJ Lee. I would love to retire her.”
Perez also revealed that she wouldn’t mind sending Lee to retirement as soon as possible, despite Malcolm’s request to wait a little bit, and also pondered where Lee had disappeared to ever since her loss to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42 earlier this year.
“Where is she?” Perez said. “Where is she? Clearly she doesn’t want to be here. So if she wants to come [in] one more time, then I can actually give her a reason to not be here, okay?”
A feud between Perez and Lee would be very fitting, as Perez has made no secret of her fandom for both Lee and her husband, CM Punk, over the years, even going as far to recreate a photo of her meeting Lee as a child with the former Divas Champion when she returned to WWE last year. Despite their close relationship outside of the ring, Perez and Lee have yet to do anything together in the ring, as Lee’s return saw her predominantly wrestle with Lynch, while Perez has remained associated with Judgment Day.
