The NCAA continues to add talent from European academies. Following Sayon Keita’s commitment to North Carolina for next season, the Duke Blue Devils have signed Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje (2009), one of Barcelona’s brightest prospects.

At just 16 years old, Boumtje-Boumtje has become one of the stars of the Liga U, and perhaps the best prospect in all of Europe at his age.

Along with Mohamed Dabone and Nikola Kusturica, he is the star of Barça’s youth academy. As reported by Joe Tipton, the 6’11” American has signed with the Blue Devils for next season. He will have to play two years to be eligible for the 2028 NBA Draft.

The son of Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, a former NBA player, has been sought after by major NCAA universities and has finally opted for a historic institution like Duke, which has recently had talents such as Cooper Flagg and Cam Boozer among its ranks.

The 2009 player was a top target for North Carolina, where his former teammate Sayon Keita will play. He will eventually end up playing for their historic rival, Duke, who are already preparing their team for next season with Dame Sarr, a former Barça player.
