Though he likes to take all the credit of being the “Flyest of All Time,” AEW star Kevin Knight had a little help from some of his inspirations to get there. While some of his style is in tribute to those who came before him in pro wrestling, the former TNT Champion also credited some top stars within the NFL as his driving force as well.
“Mr. Perfect, The Rock, Jeff Hardy. I like to intertwine some Deion Sanders in there. I like to throw some Cam Newton in there, you know, for the promos. It’s a lot of different things I like to throw in there. But at the end of the day, ‘The Jet’ is the flyest of all time,” Knight told NBC’s affiliate 11Alive in Atlanta. “Every time you see him on the screen, just know that you’re gonna see something you’ve never seen before,”
Since officially signing with AEW in March of 2025, Knight has been draped in gold, starting with two runs with the AEW World Trios Championships, before venturing off on his own and obtaining the TNT Championship. Having lost his title to Darby Allin in their Falls Count Anywhere contest at All In: London last month, Knight is trying to bounce back toward any and all gold he can achieve.
