Marvel Comics is set to celebrate a big Spider-Man milestone, and there are two big WWE influences reportedly involved with the comic. “Amazing Spider-Man” #1000 is set to be released at the end of the month, and both Paul “Triple H” Levesque and WWE Head of Character Development Rob Fee, are involved with the issue.
According to AIPT Comics, “Amazing Spider-Man” #1000 will feature stories celebrating the history of the character, in addition to continuing the current storyline of the series, centered around Peter Parker and his Aunt May. Those additional stories will come from outside creators, including the WWE Hall of Famer and COO, as well as Fee, who previously wrote for Marvel Comics from 2018 to 2022.
The outlet provided a full list of titles for the anniversary stories. Levesque is credited for writing “The Big Night,” working alongside artist Ed McGuinness. Fee is credited for writing the #1000 issue amongst a variety of others, including Frank Miller, Noah Hawley, Dan Slott, Triple H, and more.
The issue was reportedly set to hit comic book shelves earlier this month, but was delayed to September 30 due to high demand. AIPT Comics reported that the publisher revealed more than 400,000 copies of the issue have already been pre-ordered. A second print of the issue will be available with new artwork on October 28.
WWE’s relationship with Marvel Comics isn’t new, as depictions of many stars have appeared on variant covers over the years. Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk is a published Marvel creator, having contributed to many projects since 2014.
