Yaroslav Amosov made a statement in his UFC debut.
On Saturday, Amosov finally made his octagon debut, taking on Neil Magny in a prelim bout at UFC Vegas 112, and the former Bellator welterweight champion made his quite the impression, submitting Magny with an anaconda choke in the first round.
Amosov was a big betting favorite heading into his fight with Magny, but it took him a couple minutes to get going as Magny did his best to keep his feet. Amosov was finally able to land a takedown from a clinch position though, and once on the ground, he took full control, passing to top half guard. Once there, Magny tried to roll into Amosov, but “Dynamo” used that opportunity to lock up an anaconda choke. Magny fought is off for as long as he could but was ultimately forced to tap, giving Amosov his first UFC win.
