Before joining WWE, Corey Graves competed on the indies as Sterling James Keenan, winning titles and catching the eye of WWE. He’d later make his in-ring debut for the promotion in 2006 on “Velocity” before eventually going on to wrestle on “WWE NXT” in 2012. Unfortunately, in 2014, Graves announced his in-ring retirement after suffering several concussions, transitioning over into a successful career as a color commentator.

Now, according to Graves, there might be an in-ring future for him at 42. “I … got myself medically cleared several years back. There seemed like there was going to be an opportunity. Obviously plans change as things change in the industry,” he explained during an interview on “The Mark Hoke Show.”

Graves then admitted that he physically stagnated for some time after his return didn’t pan out, but claims that he’s been back in the gym for the past several months, and suggested that AAA could be a great place for him to return in especially because his younger brother, Sam Adonis, wrestles there. “So maybe I’d actually follow in his footsteps, which could be kind of fun But never say never!”

Late last year, Graves and his wife, former WWE star Carmella, welcomed their second child, while the WWE commentator hasn’t been idle professionally either, picking up a role as a professor in the communications department of Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
