Persephone defeated a debuting Dani Luna to retain the TBS Championship during AEW All Out.
Dani Luna answered Persephone’s open challenge, making her AEW debut in the process. She challenged well and arguably could have got the win had it not been for Britt Baker on the outside, interfering as the referee had her back turned.
At one stage in the bout she had a close near-fall with a deadlift back suplex from the apron over the ropes and back into the ring. She looked to press her advantage, slamming and making what might have been the winning cover before Baker grabbed her hair and pulled her out of the cover.
Baker then argued with the referee, protesting her innocence, and Luna wiped her out with a tope. Persephone took flight then to take out Luna. She got back up on the apron and Luna looked for the deadlift suplex again, but Baker held Persephone’s feet to prevent her going back over.
Persephone took advantage and delivered a crucifix powerbomb for the winning pinfall.
Luna had reportedly signed with AEW over a month ago, having previously been with TNA and RevPro Wrestling. She reigned as Undisputed British Women’s Champion in the latter, racking up two reigns with the TNA Knockouts Tag titles before asking for her release from the promotion earlier this year.
Luna spent time with WWE in “WWE NXT UK” from 2019 to 2022 as part of South Wales Subculture alongside Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster.
