WWE Evolve star Brooks Jensen has recalled how he became friends with Hall of Famer AJ Styles, a friendship that began during the pandemic.
Styles recently spoke to Jensen on “The A.J Styles Show,” where he stated that he doesn’t recall how he first met the young star, even though he acknowledged that he knew his father, former WWE star, Bull Buchanan. Jensen said that he first became acquainted with the Hall of Famer after training with him during the pandemic.
“So, at the time, during the pandemic, there were no shows going on, and there was a promoter named Todd Sexton, he ran a show called Southern Fried Wrestling in Georgia. And me and him got along great,” he began. “So, we had a good relationship, and then one day he just messaged me. He said, ‘Hey, AJ Styles needs somebody to train with. Would you want to drive up to Cornelia?’ And Cornelia, Georgia, is like, say, about two and a half hours from me. And again, at the time, I’m 18, 19 years old. I didn’t have a car, so I was trying to figure out how to get up there. So, I asked my mom’s friend to convince her to let me borrow the car and drive two and a half hours up there. And yeah, ever since then, me and AJ’s always been good friends.”
Jensen, who has been part of WWE since 2021, spent a few years on the “NXT” brand before being moved to Evolve. Styles thinks highly of the 25-year-old, recently claiming that Jensen will be one of the biggest stars to come out of “NXT,” stating that an injury briefly held him back but that he is destined for the top.
