WWE SmackDown Results 8/14 – Three Championships Up For Grabs & More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s results for “WWE SmackDown” on August 14, 2026, coming to you live from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts!

Tiffany Stratton will be putting the Women’s United States Championship on the line for the first time since retaining against Jade Cargill at WWE Night of Champions on June 27 as she defends against Fatal Influence member Jacy Jayne. Jayne’s stablemates Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley retained their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Stratton and Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green during last Friday’s episode of “SmackDown”. This provided Jayne with her title opportunity tonight, as per an agreement that all five women had come to in a verbal confrontation beforehand.

Baron Corbin will be defending his United States Championship against former titleholder Carmelo Hayes in what will mark Hayes’ first match on “SmackDown” since the July 10 edition of the show. After Corbin had retained his title against Hayes’ former friend Trick Williams last Friday, Hayes blindsided Corbin with an attack backstage later that same night and informed him of their match tonight.

Another title will also be on the line, as AAA World Tag Team Champions and War Raiders’ members Ivar and Erik challenge Damian Priest and R-Truth for their WWE Tag Team Championship. The two teams met one another in a Winner Takes All Title For Title Match on the July 30 episode of “SmackDown”, but the match ultimately ended in referee stoppage when all four men began brawling with one another.

Additionally, titleholder CM Punk and Kevin Owens are both advertised to appear ahead of their Undisputed WWE Championship match next Friday. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also scheduled to appear as well amid rising tensions between the two men over Orton costing Rhodes his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Punk at WWE SummerSlam Saturday on August 1 when he interfered.

We are live! Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore greet audiences at home as Nick Aldis is waiting in the ring to reveal he’s reached a decision about Chelsea Green’s Interim Women’s Championship and broken orbital bone.

Green’s music hits and she makes her way out. Aldis says he knows how hard Green has worked, but he can’t let her compete with a broken orbital bone. An emotional Green tells Aldis that she’s already healing and will do whatever she has to, then tells Aldis not to say what he’s going to. Aldis asks Green to relinquish the Interim Women’s Championship, but Green says she knew it was too good to be true. She says she was waiting for the other shoe to drop because everytime something good happens to her in the professional wrestling business, it’s followed by something devastating.

Green says Aldis knows how much she’s sacrificed to be where she is and says she’s left everything in the ring, then says she’s put her face in birthday cakes and pies for people to laugh in her faces. She says she told herself every night when she went to bed that it would all be worth it, then says she made it. She says until someone takes the Interim Women’s Championship off her, it’s hers and heads up the entrance ramp after giving Aldis the Interim Women’s Championship belt.

Aldis stops Green and says he thinks he’s doing the right thing as the “SmackDown” General Manager. He says as Aldis the man, he isn’t doing the right thing and gives Green 30 days to get medically cleared and squared away. Green hugs Aldis and holds up her Interim Women’s Championship, but GUNTHER’s music hits and he makes his way out.

GUNTHER asks Aldis about WWE SummerSlam, but Aldis says now is not the time because he’s dealing with Green. GUNTHER tells Green that all she did at SummerSlam was climb up a ladder and bump into a door frame while he made a man tap out in front of his family and asks why he added Kevin Owens to the Fatal Four-Way Undisputed Number One Contenders Match at SummerSlam. GUNTHER tells Green to quiet down when she speaks, but Green tells GUNTHER to puff his chest at a woman and have a cute temper tantrum. She says she only sees one champion in the ring and it isn’t GUNTHER, but Green’s husband Matt Cardona runs out to stare down GUNTHER. GUNTHER says Cardona came all the way from catering to rescue Green and says there’s nothing Cardona can do to him. Cardona clocks GUNTHER and rains down right hands on him.

Back from the break, the bell has rung and Cardona fires off forearms on GUNTHER in the corner. GUNTHER sends Cardona crashing into the barricade near the timekeeper’ area and powerbombs him on the announce desk, then powerbombs him onto the ring apron and gets inside the ring.

The referee begins a ten count, but Cardona slides into the ring. Green hops up onto the apron and distracts the referee, allowing Cardona to low blow GUNTHER and deliver Radio Silence to him. He goes for a pin, but GUNTHER kicks out and delivers a pair of powerbombs to Cardona. He cinches in a Boston Crab on him, and Cardona taps out.

Winner: GUNTHER

After the match, medical officials check on Cardona as The Irresistible Forces make their way out. Nia Jax says Green wants to be a fighting champion and asks why waste any time, then says she wants an Interim Women’s Championship match due to being screwed out of two qualifiers for the Interim Women’s Championship SummerSlam Ladder Match. She says if Green doesn’t give her what she wants, she has a history of breaking faces. Tiffany Stratton’s music hits and she runs out to the ring to come to Green’s aid. Lash Legend delivers a Bear Hug, and Jax connects with a leg drop on Stratton. 

We then head backstage, where Tatum Paxley shows Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair the new dressing room she made for all of them which features a prominent collage of Flair that Flair is creeped out by.

We then head over to a conversation between Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes, where Aldis asks Rhodes what he thinks about a match between him and Orton at WWE Sunday’s Night Main Event on September 6. Rhodes says he’s willing to face Orton whenever, but Sami Zayn crashes the interview to air his grievances with not being given an Undisputed WWE Championship match. This prompts Rhodes to challenge Zayn to a match tonight, to which Zayn reminds Rhodes that he’s already beaten him and accept. Zayn claims that he can’t wrestle with his injured hand, but Aldis gives Zayn extra incentive to wrestle against Rhodes tonight by saying he can have the winner of next week’s Undisputed WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens. Zayn insists he’s injured, but Aldis tells him that he has a decision to make. 

Back at ringside, Carmelo Hayes makes his way out. Baron Corbin follows. 

Hayes flies out of the ring to surprise Corbin at the bottom of the entrance ramp. The two men get back in the ring and the bell sounds, but Hayes delivers a springboard clothesline to Corbin. Hayes then low bridges Corbin onto the ring apron, but Corbin delivers a powerbomb to Hayes back inside the ring and sends him crashing out of the ring with a boot.

Corbin sends Hayes crashing into the barricade spine first and sends him crashing into the ring post face first, then dumps him into the timekeeper’s area. He delivers a right hand to Hayes on the outside during the commercial break and dumps him back inside the ring, then jams his boot into Hayes’ neck.

Hayes delivers a Frog Splash to Corbin off the top rope back from the break, but Corbin delivers a Deep Six to Hayes and goes for a pin. Hayes kicks out and ascends up the ropes, but Corbin pushes him off out of the ring and dumps him back inside. He then delivers an End of Days to Hayes for the win.

After the match, Trick Williams’ music hits and he makes his way out. Lil Yachty sneaks up behind Corbin to crack a kendo stick across his spine, and Williams follows it up with a Trick Shot. 

Kevin Owens then makes his way to the ring. CM Punk follows.

Punk says Owens is a lot of things, but he’s not a coward and invites Owens to give the people what they want by giving him the floor. Owens looks to talk, but Punk cuts him off and says it’s great to be alive on a Friday night in Boston. Owens says it’s ironic that Punk is talking about him saying things to his face when Punk chose to have his back turned to him at the top of the entrance ramp last Friday when he had comments to make.

Owens says his story with Punk begins 20 years ago, and Punk tells Owens to educate the fans. Owens says himself and Punk wrestlers for Ring of Honor 20 years ago with Punk being the top guy and himself trying to make a name. Owens says Punk chose to berate and insult him in a locker room full of his peers, and says every friend he has in the professional wrestling business hates Punk. Punk calls Owens’ friends losers, and Owens says he sees a locker room in the back full of people who look up to Punk because Punk made amends. He says there’s one guy left who will never like Punk and that’s himself because everything Punk says is performative and calls Punk a phony. He says Punk had no choice but to come back to WWE because he screwed things up everywhere else he went.

Owens says he did pretty well for himself and says he main evented everywhere, won titles inside and outside of WWE, and main evented WrestleMania against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Punk says he was happy for Owens then and is happy for him now, but says Owens would never have been afforded those opportunities had he not been in WWE. Owens asks Punk why he wouldn’t have been afforded those opportunities and tells Punk to say what he has to his face, but Punk asks Owens if the comments he thinks he’ll make about Owens are coming from him or Owens’ internal monologue. He says he sees a tough guy in Owens, but he also sees “a bum” and says Owens “avoids the hard work”. He says he “evolved, overcome, and adapt[s]”, but Owens says he spent his career making sure he wasn’t Punk because he’s convinced Punk hates what he sees in the mirror. Owens says he loves who he is and is the same person as he was 20 years ago.

Punk says he sees himself from 20 years ago in Owens, but Owens asks Punk if the fact he didn’t seek out Punk’s advice bothered him. He says he regretted not punching Punk in the mouth during their locker room confrontation 20 years ago, and Punk dares Owens to hit him. Owens says if he had punched Punk back then, it would’ve ruined his career and says he won’t punch Punk now because he’ll punch him in the face next week and beat him.

Damian Priest and R-Truth then make their way to the ring. The War Raiders, Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga, and Haku follow. 

Truth, Erik, and Tama Tonga begin the action. The bell rings and Talla Tonga tags in. Ivar and Priest enter the ring, and all six men begin brawling with one another. Tama dumps Erik out of the ring and MFT go at it with The War Raiders on the outside, but Priest flies off the top rope with some assistance from Truth to take out the two other tag teams on the outside.

Back from the break, Priest tags in and catches Ivar with a spinning kick. He delivers an elevated flatliner to Ivar and tags out to Truth, but Ivar delivers a cannonball off the middle rope to Talla to take him out on the outside. He then lands an over the shoulder powerslam to Tama when Erik tosses Tama over to him before Talla lands an over the shoulder powerslam to Truth.

Erik and Priest land a double superplex on Talla, and Truth cinches in an STF on Talla. Talla breaks free, but Erik catches him with a knee strike and delivers a belly-to-belly suplex to Priest. Priest sends Erik crashing into the mat with a big boot and delivers a pair of spinning kicks to him on the outside, then sends him crashing through the barricade.

Inside the ring, Tama looks to land Cutthroat on Truth. Truth levels Tama with a pair of shoulder tackles and a slam, then follows it up with a Five knuckle Shuffle and sets up for an Attitude Adjustment. Tama escapes and MFT delivers Brother’s Keeper to Truth for the win.

Fatal Influence then makes their way to the ring. Tiffany Stratton follows.

The bell rings and Jayne sends Stratton crashing into the corner spine first. She fires off shoulders on Stratton’s midsection and delivers a senton to her, then goes for a pin but Stratton kicks out.

Stratton delivers a Hip Attack to Jayne and follows it up with a shotgun dropkick to her, then levels her with a clothesline and runs the ropes. Reid distracts Stratton, allowing Jayne to deliver a backbreaker to Stratton and sending her crashing into the top turnbuckle face first during the commercial break.

Reid takes a cheap shot on Stratton from the outside and Jayne follows it up with a cannonball. Stratton fires off right hands on Jayne, but Jayne regains the upper hand and wraps her legs around Stratton’s torso as she targets Stratton’s injured midsection from earlier tonight.

Stratton ascends to the top rope, but Jayne pushes her off. Chelsea Green appears to check on Stratton, but Jayne gets in her face and delivers a jawbreaker to Stratton back from the break. Stratton catches Jayne with a back elbow and a cartwheel Alabama Slam, then ascends to the top rope and delivers a Swanton Bomb. She goes for a pin, but Jayne kicks out.

Stratton sets up for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Jayne gets her knees up and pins Stratton. Stratton kicks out, but Reid and Henley get in Green’s face on the outside. Stratton flies off the top rope with a crossbody to take out Reid and Henley on the outside, but Jayne is waiting with a Rolling Encore with Stratton when she gets back inside the ring for the win.

Winner (and new): Jacy Jayne

Cody Rhodes then makes his way to the ring. Sami Zayn follows.

Although Zayn makes his way out for his upcoming match with Rhodes, Orton sneaks up behind Rhodes in the ring and levels him from behind as Zayn seemingly looks stunned from the entrance ramp. Orton delivers a hanging DDT to Rhodes and sets up for a RKO on him, but Rhodes escapes.

Orton dumps Rhodes out of the ring and hits him with the ring steps as Zayn argues with the referee on the entrance ramp, then drapes the ring steps on the announce desk. Rhodes gains the upper hand and brawls with Orton through the crowd, then hits him with a garbage can. Orton and Rhodes brawl back into the ringside area, and Orton lays Rhodes on the announce desk as officials run out.

Orton wedges Rhodes in the ring steps and grabs a chair, then looks to hit Rhodes with it. Rhodes low blows Orton and grabs the chair from him, then cracks it across Orton and looks to hit Orton with the chair. An official grabs the chair fro Rhodes as another one pulls Rhodes off the announce desk. Rhodes is then held back and continues brawling with Orton as the show goes off the air.
