What to watch out for at Autosport Awards 2026

Autosport Awards 2026 will honour the best of motorsport and bring together the biggest stars from across the globe for a night of celebrations. 

From fan-voted awards to special guest appearances on a glitzy red carpet, Autosport Awards is the iconic gathering to celebrate the memorable and historic feats by drivers, teams and engineers and this year promises to be even bigger.

Here’s what to look out for at Autosport Awards 2026. 

Lando Norris will be in attendance and receive the inaugural Autosport Champion honour, marking his rise from Autosport BRDC Young Driver winner to Formula 1 world champion. The McLaren driver is also in the running for fan-voted awards, with the winners revealed on the night, after over half a million votes were cast from across the world. 

Legendary British engineer Ross Brawn will be honoured with the prestigious Autosport Gold Medal Icon Award for his 40-year career at the highest level of motorsport. Brawn will take to the stage to reflect on his outstanding achievements, covering his multiple world titles with Michael Schumacher at Benetton and Ferrari before overseeing his own team, Brawn GP, to win both F1 world championships in 2009.

Brawn, who also played a key role in shaping Mercedes’ dominant era in the 2010s, went on to become poacher turned gamekeeper as he joined F1’s management to help shape the series and its future. 

To start the glitz and the glamour of the night, the biggest names in motorsport will arrive at the Awards on a red carpet in front of photographers and media to capture the moment. Stars set to be on show include F1 drivers Isack Hadjar and Gabriel Bortoleto, F1 team bosses Andrea Stella, Laurent Mekies, James Vowles, Jonathan Wheatley and Graeme Lowdon, plus many more. 

Autosport Awards also welcomes F1 Academy, which has once again chosen the event to celebrate its stars including Doriane Pin, Maya Weug and Chloe Chambers, with the series presenting its own awards on the night alongside managing director Susie Wolff. 

The on-stage show will be presented by BBC Radio 1’s and avid motorsport fan Greg James, while Michelin star chef Tom Kerridge has curated the Autosport Awards menu for guests, to ramp up anticipation for the illustrious evening at the Roundhouse in London. 

But you’ll have to wait until the night to find out the winners of the fan-voted awards, which include Driver, Rookie, Team, Moment of the Year present by Bahrain International Circuit, Creator, British Competition Driver, Competition Car and Rally Driver. 

All will be revealed on Autosport on Wednesday 21 January.
