WAYNE ROONEY went viral after sharing his prediction of a dream match between his all-conquering 2008 Manchester United team and the current Arsenal side.
Rooney, 40, was on punditry duty on Tuesday to cover the Champions League clash between Inter Milan and the Gunners for TNT Sports at the San Siro.
United‘s record goalscorer joined Arsenal hero Theo Walcott and host Gabby Logan on the pitch before the crunch European clash kicked off.
Walcott, 36, appeared very impressed with former team-mate Mikel Arteta’s side this season.
The North Londoners are favourites to win the Premier League thanks to a rock-solid defence of Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, a technical midfield of Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Martin Odegaard as well as an explosive attack led by Bukayo Saka.
Walcott turned to Rooney and decided to compare the current Arsenal team to Sir Alex Ferguson’s famous 2008 team that won the Premier League and Champions League.

Wazza was part of an unforgettable front three alongside fellow legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.
They were joined by iconic goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and arguably the Red Devils’ best ever centre-back duo in Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic with the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs still pulling the strings.
And a potential dream match came up between those two strong sides.
Walcott said: “It’s kind of flipped, would your ’08 team compete – well, you would compete against this team but how does it compare to your 2008 team, which was probably the best team that I’ve ever played against?”
Rooney immediately responded: “Yeah, we’d batter them! I think we would.”
The whole panel then started laughing with the England legend’s quick retort.
Logan went to point out: “It took you half a second to come up with that.”
