FC Barcelona has officially announced the signing of Umoja Gibson on a two-year contract through June 30, 2028, pending a successful medical.
The 28-year-old American point guard joins from Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, where he established himself as one of the EuroCup’s top guards last season, averaging 15.9 points, 4.9 assists and a 17.2 PIR in 20 appearances.
A Texas native, Gibson played collegiately at North Texas, Oklahoma, and DePaul before beginning his professional career with BG Göttingen in Germany in 2023.
After a season with Spartak Subotica, he took another step forward in 2025-26 with Cedevita Olimpija, posting 15.8 points, 5.3 assists and a 17.5 PIR in the ABA League, earning a move to the Catalan powerhouse.
