King Green’s 28th UFC appearance comes against an octagon newcomer.

MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck confirmed with multiple sources with knowledge of the promotion’s plans that Green (32-17-1, 1 NC) is set to fight the debuting Lance Gibson Jr. (9-1) in a 160-pound catchweight bout at UFC Vegas 112, with the fight coming together just days ahead of Saturday’s event.

Green is one of the longest tenured fighters in the UFC’s lightweight division, making nearly 30 walks to the octagon while facing numerous marquee names over the years. He’s won more than he’s lost in the UFC, with 13 wins and 12 losses, but is currently in 1-3 slump with back-to-back losses to Mauricio Ruffy and Paddy Pimblett. He competes for the second time in 2025 and looks to go out on a high note.

Canada’s Gibson competes for the first time since November 2024. He competed six times for Bellator, going 5-1 in the promotion. On Tuesday, he wrote in his Instagram Stories, “When destiny comes knocking, will you answer the door? I DID.”

UFC Vegas 112 is headlined by a flyweight grudge match between Manel Kape and Brandon Royval.
