The UFC returns to Sacramento on Saturday, Aug. 22, with both the main and co-main events officially announced along with several new fights added to the card.
In the main event, Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez makes his return to action when he faces Gregory “Robocop” Rodrigues in a five-round fight at middleweight. The fight serves as Hernandez’s chance to get back in the win column after falling to future 185-pound champion Sean Strickland while Rodrigues looks to build on a three-fight win streak including a knockout over Brunno Fereira in his most recent outing.
As for the co-main event, Reinier de Ridder officially moves to the light heavyweight division where he faces Roman Dolidze. The move to 205 pounds comes after de Ridder suffered back-to-back losses to Brendan Allen and Caio Borralho and now he’ll look for a fresh start in a new division.
Also added to the card, Serghei Spivac returns to action in a heavyweight bout against veteran knockout artist Vitor Petrino. Also at heavyweight, Kennedy Nzechukwu takes on Shamil Gaziev on the card in Sacramento.
A pair of women’s strwweight fights have also been booked for the August card as Carli Judice faces off with Jeisla Chaves while Shanelle Dyer takes on Elise Ride.
At middleweight, Contender Series veteran Wes Schultz returns to action against Jackson McVey.
More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks for the event taking place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento with the entire event airing live on Paramount+.
