Fury jabs immediately but Makhmudov runs him right to the corner to start. That’s how he fights. He wants an early finish and he’s charging in. Fury grabbing, sticking the jab, looking to slow this up. A couple of clinches early as Makhmudov marches straight forward behind some hooks and then smothers. Fury comfortable with this style of fight, too.
Makhmudov yet to find the mark with these big hooks, and in space, Fury getting that jab off. But Makhmudov charges again and lands a good left. Fury eats another right hook on another charge. He’s light on his feet still, but seems to be allowing Makhmudov to burn his energy this way. Then in space he gets the jab off. Fury playing the long game.

There’s basically no way Makhmudov can keep this up. And Fury lands a sharp right early, but Makhmudov pops him with a left when Fury was feeling himself. Fury holding the center more this round, but Makhmudov tries to charge him down. More footwork from Fury, who is starting to get his long jab off. Makhmudov is a brawler in the most rudimentary sense of the word, and Fury is boxing now.
Makhmudov so rough in there, charges like a bull and missing. Fury with a good jab, but Makhmudov wings a right over the top that lands. Makhmudov powering through, and Fury sticks to the body. Then a 1-2 from Fury. Fury already slowing Makhmudov’s bullrushes in this round, slips a looping right, and spins Makhmudov into the corner where he fires.
Fury is going to win this fight. Makhmudov is already slowing.

I’m gonna guess Makhmudov only has a few rounds left. He already looks slower, moving forward with less commitment now. And Fury is starting to get into a rhythm with his long jab and then right hand. Fury also switching stances, give Makhmudov looks. Makhmudov bulls in, but not landing anything of note, now.
Fury is still a very skilled boxer, and shockingly nimble at his size and age. Makhmudov showing a second wind, but Fury digs to the body. Fury working in the clinch now and Makhmudov holding on. Fury taking over in all phases now. Makhmudov on the retreat as Fury gets into his groove at range. Nice right hand around the guard for Fury. Makhmudov is out of ideas, and he’s a sitting duck. This is a matter of time.

Makhmudov with signs of life early in this round, landing a clipping left hand but Fury shakes it off. Makhmudov with another left off a bull rush. He’s getting rugged early here. Big right hand from Makhmudov but Fury is rolling most of them. Makhmudov keeps coming though and Fury is not moving in space this round. Fury brings Makhmudov in and then lands a nasty right hand on the pivot.
Fury starting to come alive this round after a slow start to the round. Maybe it was tactics, because he lands sharply at range with the 1-2. And Makhmudov slowing this round, he spent a lot early. Fury on the march now, putting Makhmudov against the ropes and he’s back to the flow.

Fury got bounce in his step early as Makhmudov marches him down early. When Fury takes the lead, Makhmudov has nothing to offer. But when he takes his foot off the gas, Makhmudov takes the initiative. Fury keeping him in space this round with his long jab, into the clinch. Makhmudov showing nothing this round. His feet are slow now.
Makhmudov looking decidedly slow now. Fury not pressing the issue, just doing classic Fury punches at range, then rough-housing in the clinch. Makhmudov is not getting a chance to rest though, and that’s the most important part. Makhmudov really looking for a respite, and Fury offering none.

How much does Makhmudov have left in the tank? Enough to try, it seems, as Makhmudov is pushing in on him. but Fury slipping the charges, having a good time, and sinking some shots in. Fury jabbing the body. Makhmudov crudely rushes in and he has no steam on his punches anymore. Fury pecking away. Makhmudov has nothing to offer at this stage of proceedings, other than rushing and holding. And Fury excels in that range.
Vintage Fury on display here. Can he get a finish? That’s the question on offer as Fury starts playing around in there a bit. If Fury wants to try, he can finish this. I’m not sure he’s even trying to though.

Makhmudov lands a right early, but there is no juice left on his shots. Credit to him for still coming forward, but he is lacking energy and keeps eating Fury jabs. Makhmudov keeps coming in, clinching, not doing much. Fury chipping away in all phases. Makhmudov with a decent right hand over the top but clinches in again.
Fury is either not in fighting shape, or he’s intentionally taking the round off, trying to get more ring time. He has done very little, but just enough to be ahead. Comes forward with a 1-2. Makhmudov swinging fruitlessly, Fury jabbing. Fury definitely not as quick as he used to be but he’s quick enough. Makhmudov is so tired in there.

Makhmudov still hanging in there as he eats a jab to start when he comes forward. There’s no quit in Makhmudov, just a lack of ideas. And Fury comes in aggressively, putting Makhmudov to the ropes with a combo. Fury could get this done if he simply went for it. But he settles in again. Fury is not going to get out over his skis.
Makhmudov cannot get his right hand home as Fury sees everything. Then he gets to space and jabs. Nice uppercut from Fury as Makhmudov came in. Nice left from Makhmudov as they exchange and then clinch. Fury comfortable getting his rounds in. Very nice check hook from Fury! Makhmudov came in and baby hook right on the chin got Makhmudov’s legs wobbly! Makhmudov clinching and the crowd comes alive!

More of the same to start this round. Makhmudov with a bit of pep in his step but Fury smothers him int he clinch and pounds shots to the body. That takes the energy down. Pace is slowing for both men. Well, Makhmudov is about the same as he’s been. But without Fury putting more on, it’s slower overall. Fury taking his time. A lot more clinching this round. Fury keeps jabbing, then works the body in the clinch.
Makhmudov showing his spirit, coming forward, trying to find a way to make this a fight. Fury not allowing him to, and lands a good shot, then Makhmudov takes a knee as fury was holding a headlock. The slog continues. Fury lands a good combo to the body before the round.

Clinch and body shots from Fury early. Many of them. Lot of work inside this round as Makhmudov keeps coming inside and Fury hits him in there. Nice 1-2 from Fury. He’s coasting. And Makhmudov gets his mouthguard knocked out so we have a bit of a break. Fury with a right hand on the restart and strong shot into Makhmudov there. He’s taking a licking in there and he keeps marching in. Fury landing the shots inside and a nice uppercut.
And another. Makhmudov with a left hook. Makhmudov is sturdy in there but he keeps getting worked over, eating another jab and an uppercut. Fury puts Makhmudov to the ropes and unloads, and another push gets Makhmudov to the canvas. More shots to the end from Fury as he might be starting to look for a finish.

Well, clinches to start. Fury keeps digging to the body here, and Makhmudov more defensive this round. But then he gets Fury to the corner but can’t land. Nice 1-2 from Fury. Fury not pushing for the finish this round it seems. He’s just kinda cruising. He’s at no risk of losing this one, so it’s fair. Fury keeps flicking the jab and then digging the body.
This has not been the most entertaining watch. AKA, it’s been a classic Tyson Fury fight. Makhmudov clock-watching, just trying to make it to the cards. I think he’s going to, despite Fury landing a big body shot. Makhmudov stays in close and Fury spins him to the corner, unloading before the round.

Makhmudov with some pep here. It’s the last round and he lands a looping right hand over the top but Fury shakes it off. Fury with the 1-2 into a clinch. So. Many. Clinches. Both men happy to do it.
More of the same as we sludge our way to the final bell. Fury drawing him in, uppercuts, move, clinch. Nothing huge from Fury, just working him over. But Makhmudov is a block of wood in there, and won’t go away. A testament to his grit, if not his abilities.
Final minute and Fury lands two very nice short hooks that get Makhmudov moving away. The crowd roars but Fury is not pressing the issue. Makhmudov closes in, clinch. He will make it to the decision, and Fury will win walking away.
