LIVERPOOL could lose defender Andy Robertson THIS MONTH after Tottenham accelerated plans to sign him.

Robertson, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to talk to clubs around the world over an exit.

SunSport understands Spurs are now working to bring him in early having previously identified the Scotland captain as a summer option.

Robertson, a Champions League and two-time Premier League winner, has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield.

He has only started four league matches this term after the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth last year.

He was Arne Slot’s favoured left-back last season as the Reds stormed to the title but has not been as actively involved since Kerkez’s move.

BECK FOR GOOD

Talks are underway over a mid-season switch for Robbo, who boasts over 300 PL appearances to his name.

The experienced pro has won eight major trophies since leaving Hull in 2017 to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

He has established himself as one of the finest attacking full-backs around, assisting five or more league goals in six consecutive seasons between 2017 and 2023.

He has 60 in the league for Liverpool and Hull and would be Tottenham’s second big deal of the window if he does complete a transfer.

Thomas Frank’s squad has already been strengthened by Conor Gallagher on a permanent from Atletico Madrid.

The Tottenham boss is under pressure after an extended run of league form but has the backing of some senior figures who are now pushing forward with more January activity.
