Following the appointment of Tony Parker as the new head coach, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has unveiled a powerhouse coaching staff engineered to establish a new era. The headline addition confirmed on Sunday features the most decorated master of French basketball, Vincent Collet, who joins the ambitious project as the offensive coordinator. The legendary former national team tactician will structure the game plan alongside returning technical assistant Antoine Chevrier.
Defensively, the reins are handed to former Elite 2 Coach of the Year Dounia Issa, who reunites with his energetic former counterpart Guillaume Soares. To optimize the transition game, the club welcomes back two-time French champion Bryan George, fresh from his recent stint with the Atlanta Hawks and College Park Skyhawks, who will collaborate closely with the widely experienced Old Lo.
Meanwhile, individual skills remain a central priority as former international point guard Joseph Gomis leads the player development department. He will be supported by Georgi Joseph and Martin Diakite to maximize the potential of a heavily upgraded roster. This tactical alignment aims to quickly integrate incoming talents into the core system.
Breaking new ground, ASVEL is also pioneering a specialized performance department under sports science expert Dr. Yannis Irid. This advanced division integrates biomechanics, data analytics, and targeted nutrition to optimize player availability. The scientific approach will safeguard health during a grueling multi-tournament campaign.
Furthermore, the logistical harmony remains secured by team manager Theo Gallois and his assistant Sambala Sissoko. Crucially, the entire technical vision will be coordinated by general manager Michel Veyronnet, who will steer strategic decisions alongside club legends Charles Kahudi and Florent Pietrus.
