Tony Khan has provided a positive update on Steven Borden after Borden suffered an injury at AEW All Out.
Borden teamed with Darby Allin on Saturday night, and the duo faced the team of Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight for the #1 contenders match for the AEW tag team titles. During the match, Borden collided with Knight mid-air, and the former seemed to have been knocked out. Khan, in the post-show presser, said Borden is awake and conscious, and that CT scans have given him the thumbs up for his health.
“I wanted to get down to business and say I’ve a great update. Thankfully, Steven Borden’s awake, responsive at the hospital, and he had a CT scan and all the tests have come back good. So far, all good results. We’re hopeful Stephen’s going to be able to fly home tomorrow to his family. So that’s great news coming out of the pay-per-view,” said Khan.
The AEW CEO, without naming names, stated that many wrestlers suffered knocks and injuries coming out of All Out, noting that fewer talent than usual would be speaking at the post-show presser.
“We had a lot of wrestlers banged up, a lot of injuries, and with a lot of wrestlers getting checked out right now by the doctors, it’s going to be not as many guests tonight [for the presser],” he added.
The tag team match at All Out was halted, with Allin appearing concerned about the health of his tag team partner. The match was called off by the referee, with Knight and Fletcher declared winners. The match was Borden’s first at an AEW pay-per-view, and while it ended with an injury, the latest update on his health is encouraging.
