Today’s basketball landscape can write unbelievable stories like this one. On Wednesday night, you put up 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists but you lose in the EuroLeague; less than 24 hours later, you find yourself in Espoo, Finland, with the Georgian national team. And, this time, you win.
Tornike Shengelia’s effort can’t be appreciated enough, as the veteran power forward demonstrated the wish to give his all for his country – rightfully so -, and was beneficial in Georgia’s 90-83 road win.
Despite the recent tiring matchup in his legs – and taking a flight right after the game in Bologna to reach his countrymen as soon as possible – the experienced European veteran came out with 24 points over 4/6 from beyond the arc and 10/11 at the charity stripe, adding 6 rebounds and 5 assists too.

His new teammate Kamar Baldwin had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in his International debut.
Following this victory, Georgia isn’t winless anymore in Group G; Finland, instead, stands now at a 1-2 record despite Olivier Nkamhoua’s losing effort of 22 points and 9 rebounds.
