Tai Tuivasa has a fight at UFC Perth after all.

The matchmakers worked quickly to keep Australia’s Tuivasa (14-9) on the May 2 card after he lost originally scheduled opponent Sean Sharaf to injury earlier this week. Tuivasa now fights Louie Sutherland (10-5).

See the official announcement below.

With Sutherland stepping in, Tuivasa has a chance to break the worst slump of his career. He has lost six straight fights dating back to 2022, including finish losses to Marcin Tybura, Alexander Volkov, Sergei Pavlovich, and Ciryl Gane.

Sutherland, like Sharaf, has far less UFC experience than Tuivasa, having fought just twice for the promotion since making his debut this past October. The Englishman is 0-2 with first-round losses to Brando Pericic and Valter Walker.

UFC Perth takes place at RAC Arena and is headlined by a welterweight bout between former champion Jack Della Maddalena and Carlos Prates.
