Sherilyn Guerrero, daughter of the late-great Eddie Guerrero, has been training to follow her father’s footsteps into pro wrestling. Back in August she opened up about her training at that point, stating that she’s yet to have an official match, but was excitedly looking forward to the day she’d step into the ring in front of an audience. In a recent interview with the “2Hard2FastPodcast,” Sherilyn expressed how taxing pro wrestling can be.
“I’ve been wrestling for about a year now. I feel like the hardest thing is to keep going,” Sherilyn said. “It’s a very hard sport, mentally, physically, very demanding. And then, also, just my dad being who he is, that adds on a thousand layers but, honestly, I have loved it.”
She was then asked to share some advice for anyone trying to establish them as wrestlers, and she advised anyone thinking about becoming a wrestler to not take things personally. “It’s really easy, to like, create scenarios in your head from the littlest things,” she stated. Sherilyn admitted that it’s a constant battle, and she concocts scenarios in her head that inspire fear. She recommended that anyone who deals with anxiety shouldn’t let it hold them back.
When it comes to building her own legacy as a wrestler, Sherilyn made it clear that she doesn’t plan to drop the “Guerrero” name when she makes her debut, as her family will always be a part of her that she can’t run away from. “I feel like I’m able to be me and a Guerrero, and [there’s] a lot, you know, that took me to get to that point because everyone expects this to go a certain way, and I’m like, ‘No, it’s actually going to go my way.'”
