UFC welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio wants to share the cage with former American Top Team teammate Colby Covington next, and he would love to do it in front of President Donald Trump at the White House.

Having heard that, Ponzinibbio volunteers himself for the task.

“Colby Covington is asking to fight at the White House, and I’m down to fight him there or in any other card,” Ponzinibbio told MMA Fighting, sending a message to the former interim welterweight champion. “I beat you up in the gym, and I can do it again at the White House.”

Covington recently said he would be open to facing Bo Nickal should he drop down to welterweight. Nickal, however, is booked for the White House card against Kyle Daukaus at middleweight.

“Colby will say ‘no’ because he’s scared, but I’m here to fight,” Ponzinibbio said. “He keeps calling out fighters who know they have fights booked. If he’s down for it, I’m ready. Just say where and I’ll be there to beat the crap out of him.”

Ponzinibbio hasn’t fought since May 2025, when he lost to Daniel Rodriguez. In his previous bout, the Argentinian veteran — who also works as a UFC color commentator on the Spanish broadcast for Paramount+ — stopped Carlston Harris by knockout.

Covington is also looking to get back on track in the UFC after consecutive defeats to Joaquin Buckley and Leon Edwards.
