Following the Golden State Warriors’ elimination from the 2026 SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, Quinten Post expressed a strong desire to remain with the organization during Monday’s end-of-season interviews. The 26-year-old center is among 11 players set to hit free agency in what promises to be a summer of significant uncertainty for the franchise.

Post’s sophomore campaign ended on the sidelines due to a right foot injury sustained late in the 2025-26 Regular Season. Although he missed nine consecutive games, including the Play-Ins, he revealed he had held out hope for a return should the team have advanced to a first-round series in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, presented by Google, against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Over 67 appearances this season, the Dutch big averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds while establishing himself as a much-improved interior defender.

Looking to the immediate future, Post plans to make his debut for the senior national team of the Netherlands during the FIBA World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers this July. “I think I just want to play a bunch of basketball. I am planning to play with my national team,” he said. “I think it will be good for me to put myself in different situations basketball-wise.”

The Orange Lions currently sit second in Group F with a 2-2 record. The team faces a critical July window, hosting Latvia and visiting Poland, as they look to clinch a berth in the final stage of the Qualifiers beginning in August. It would be a huge step for the program, which has only qualified for the final stage of a World Cup once, back in 1986.

Regarding his individual development during the upcoming offseason, Post is focused on the versatility that has become his signature. “Work on the things that keep me in the NBA, which is shooting the ball. I think I made big strides defensively this year, and I think I also made strides as a finisher around the basket. So, keep working on those things,” he shared further summer plans.

During his exit interview, he also voiced his firm support for head coach Steve Kerr, whom he described as a “brilliant basketball mind” and a “legend”.
