Jared Anderson is the highest-ranked American at #14. Anderson, who has won 18 of 19 fights with 15 stoppages, suffered a fifth-round stoppage loss to Martin Bakole in 2024 that halted his rise. He has fought only once since then, returning with a decision win over Marios Kollias. That limited activity has slowed his return toward serious title contention.
American contenders still rebuilding position
Richard Torrez Jr. appears at #15 and remains one of the country’s most promising heavyweights. Torrez moved his record to 14 wins with 12 knockouts after defeating Guido Vianello and Tomas Salek in 2025. His progress continues, but his ranking shows he is still working toward a position rather than standing near a title opportunity.
Jarrell Miller is ranked #23 and remains outside the immediate reach of a championship fight. Miller lost to Daniel Dubois in 2023 and later fought Andy Ruiz Jr. to a draw. Those results prevented him from securing the type of win needed to move into mandatory territory.
Former champion Deontay Wilder sits at #30. Wilder has stopped 43 opponents across 44 wins, but recent defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang changed his position in the division. He returned with a win over Tyrell Herndon and is scheduled to face Derek Chisora in April. His ranking reflects the difficulty of returning to title contention at age 40 after multiple losses.
Stephan Shaw appears at #44 after rebuilding from his loss to Joseph Goodall in 2023. Shaw has won three straight fights, including a victory over Raphael Akpejiori, but remains well outside championship reach based on current positioning.
Oleksandr Usyk holds the IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBC titles and remains the central figure in the division. Fabio Wardley currently holds the WBO interim title and is scheduled to defend it against Daniel Dubois in May.
The rankings confirm that American heavyweights are still rebuilding their standing while the championship picture remains controlled by fighters outside the United States.
