The NBA has reshaped the landscape for several teams following a busy weekend of disciplinary reviews. Most notably, the Los Angeles Lakers received a significant boost as superstar Luka Doncic had a critical technical foul rescinded, clearing him to play in Monday’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons.
The 27-year-old combo guard was facing an automatic one-game suspension after picking up what was initially ruled his 16th technical of the 2025-26 Regular Season during a heated exchange with Goga Bitadze during Saturday’s contest against the Orlando Magic. Upon further review, the league rescinded the fouls for both the Slovenian guard and the Georgian big man. While Doncic remains at 15 technicals, just one shy of a ban, the decision ensures the Lakers have their floor general available as they fight for playoff positioning.
However, JJ Redick’s roster remains in flux. German Maxi Kleber is currently listed as questionable for Monday’s game at Little Caesars Arena. The 34-year-old forward has missed seven consecutive games due to a persistent lumbar back strain. The team is also monitoring the status of Rui Hachimura (right calf soreness) and Marcus Smart (right ankle soreness), both of whom are also questionable.
Elsewhere, the league handed down stern penalties following an on-court altercation between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards. Belgian Ajay Mitchell and Justin Champagnie were both issued one-game suspensions for their roles in a fight that spilled into the spectator stands. Financial penalties were also levied against OKC’s Jaylin Williams, Cason Wallace, and Washington’s Anthony Gill for escalating the incident. Mitchell will serve his suspension on Monday when the Thunder face the Philadelphia 76ers in Xfinity Mobile Arena.
