AS Monaco are seeking to bring forward their hearing before the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) as they attempt to overturn a ban preventing them from competing in France’s professional leagues next season, according to L’Équipe.

The reigning Betclic Elite champions appealed to the CNOSF after the French Basketball Federation refused to approve their participation. A conciliation hearing is currently scheduled for August 25, but the club considers that date too late.

I have asked for the hearing to be brought forward because August 25 is very late,” Monaco’s lawyer Xavier Lecerf-Galle told AFP.

The hearing is expected to include representatives of Monaco, the French Basketball Federation and the league, as well as a CNOSF legal expert.

Monaco are seeking a fresh review of their admission while a takeover project led by former NBA player Jamal Mashburn is being developed. Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho also reportedly entered the race earlier this week.
