Mario Hezonja has officially claimed the Liga Endesa Most Valuable Player award for the 2025-26 Regular Season. The prestigious honor caps off a dominant Monday for the Croatian star of Real Madrid, who was also named to the All-ACB First Team for the second consecutive year.

The 31-year-old combo forward captured the crown by securing the majority vote from players and media, while finishing second among coaches and fans. He accumulated 103.5 total points, comfortably defeating Valencia’s Jean Montero and UCAM Murcia’s David DeJulius, who tallied 74.5 and 73.5 points, respectively.

This MVP campaign marked the best basketball of Hezonja’s career, cementing his leadership for a Madrid squad that finished at the top of the table despite battling numerous injuries. Super Mario earned Player of the Week honors three times, including in Round 29 against Murcia, where he exploded for 40 points and a 53 Performance Index Rating in under 30 minutes. This showcase made him the first player in twenty years to exceed a 50 PIR.

Hezonja averaged 18.8 PIR in the Regular Season. He also finished as the competition’s third-highest scorer at 17.5 points per game, shattering his previous career highs. Statistically, the Los Blancos leader ranked eighth in both three-pointers made and defensive rebounds, while elite efficiency at the free-throw line anchored his offensive dominance.

The annual MVP distinction is decided by four equally weighted voting blocks between head coaches, team captains, media, and fans. These groups determine the final selection through a combination of ranked points and percentages.
