Buducnost VOLI and Recoletas San Pablo Burgos have significantly strengthened their respective rosters ahead of the 2026–27 BKT EuroCup campaign by securing key acquisitions.

The Podgorica outfit finalized a major addition on Thursday with the signing of 30-year-old versatile swingman Marial Shayok, who is set to make his competitive debut in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the athletic perimeter player infuses immense physical strength along with proven scoring capabilities across multiple positions. The former NBA draft pick, selected 54th overall in 2019, possesses elite offensive credentials, having previously excelled at Iowa State before showcasing his talent globally during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup 2023 with South Sudan. His extensive international resume includes highly impactful stints in the G League, China, and Japan, alongside a combined 35 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague representing both Fenerbahce Beko and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

In Spain, the Liga Endesa participant solidified its leadership framework on Friday by confirming that veteran forward Pablo Almazan will continue serving as team captain with the club returning to the European level after four years. The Granada-born leader extended his commitment for a third consecutive season, ensuring vital continuity for the club as they balance continental and domestic challenges. Since arriving at Burgos, the experienced Andalusian perimeter player has established himself as the foundational anchor of the locker room, notably guiding the squad through their promotion campaign in the 2024–25 season.
