Karate Combat president Asim Zaidi is not happy with “WingedC” for the stunt he pulled during Saturday’s event in Miami.

A one-time Karate Combat veteran, WingedC a.k.a. Malcolm Schuyler was in attendance at the KC Apex this past Saturday when he decided to enter the pit pretending to be a blind man during a light heavyweight fight between former UFC fighters Claudio Ribeiro and Curtis Millender. The referee stopped the bout until Schuyler was removed from the pit.

“That was really crazy,” Zaidi told MMA Fighting. “WingedC called me after to apologize to me. And I said, ‘Bro, you don’t even know how bad you did.’ It’s bad for so many reasons. No. 1, fighter safety. It’s horrible. Horrible. But No. 2, my personal reason, I signed a lease. Look, UFC has an Apex. We have our own Apex now. I signed the lease on Wednesday, 48 hours before the show, for nine years.

“You jump in my pit. What if the commission says, ‘Hey, Awesome, we’re taking away your promoter license.’ Now I’m stuck with this stupid warehouse I’ll have to pay all this money for nine years. [He said] ‘Oh, I didn’t think of that.’ Yeah, bro. Of course you didn’t think of that, but you have to think it’s not just about you getting views. Is the health of the fighters, the health of the business. How are you going to make the promotion look? I hired you to do fun things, but now people are going to think I hired you to do something stupid like this? Are you crazy?”

Zaidi said WingedC realized he “made a big mistake” and apologized and then asked if was getting fired over his stunt.

“Bro, right now you’re fired. I don’t wanna talk about this,” Zaidi said. “I would never ask a crazy guy like that to jump into the pit. Not only for the fighter safety, but also for me. If I lose my promoter license and I signed this lease for nine years, my Apex, are you kidding me? It’s so stupid. It’s crazy.”

WingedC claimed on social media he was assaulted by Millender at the fighter hotel later that night. Millender lost his Karate Combat 61 match by TKO to Ribeiro.

“I didn’t get to see the full video, but I saw a video where the guy smacked, like slap him from the back of the head,” Zaidi said of the incident. “I might be wrong because I saw it once and it disappeared on Instagram. I don’t know if it was a punch or a slap, but I saw slap in the back of the head. Allegedly, WingedC said he dropped the guy, all this stuff.

“Again, I don’t care about the details, I care more about there were three street fights in one week and this guy jumps in the pit. I never in my life have one street fight, one problem in my event. This is just disappointing.”
