Jailton Almeida has agreed to face Rizvan Kuniev on less than three weeks’ notice at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, taking on the Russian heavyweight at UFC Vegas 113 on Feb. 7. MMA Fighting confirmed the change following a report from Leo Guimaraes.
Kuniev was scheduled to face Ryan Spann, who left the card due to undisclosed reasons.
Kuniev (13-3-1, 1 no-contest) joined the UFC after his second victory on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2024, when he knocked out Hugo Cunha, and postponed his UFC debut multiple times before finally entering the octagon in June 2025 to lose a split decision to Curtis Blaydes.
Almeida (22-4) was riding a two-fight finishing streak over Alexandr Romanov and Serghei Spivac in the heavyweight division but stumbled on his most recent appearance, dropping a split decision to Alexander Volkov in October 2025 to move his UFC record to 8-2.
UFC Vegas 113 will be topped by a bantamweight showdown between Vinicius Oliveira and Marcio Bautista, with former RIZIN and Bellator champion Kyoji Horiguchi taking on Amir Albazi in the co-main event slot.
