JAMIE REDKNAPP has blamed dad Harry for his viral gaffe about Antoine Semenyo’s move to Manchester City.
The Sky Sports pundit sensationally claimed last week that the Ghanaian striker’s move to the Etihad wasn’t a foregone conclusion due to interest from Liverpool.
Redknapp’s claim came the evening of Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Spurs, in which Semenyo bagged a stoppage-time winner.
But the former Cherries midfielder was left with egg on his face when Semenyo’s £62.5million move to the Etihad went through as planned.
Redknapp, 52, became the butt of several jokes in the days that followed.
But he’s now tried to cover his backside by throwing his old man – former Bournemouth boss and Prem icon Harry – under the bus.

During Sky Sport’s coverage of City’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Newcastle, he said: “I heard there was going to be a twist!

“And he said ‘I think there might be a twist and he might be going to Liverpool’.
“I thought ‘I’m going to say that on air’.
“I thought I had turned into Fabrizio Romano for five seconds, and I got it completely wrong.”
Semenyo has well and truly hit the ground running at the Etihad, bagging goals in their 10-1 FA Cup thrashing of Exeter City and yesterday’s 2-0 win over the Magpies.
