Gzim Selmani’s BKFC debut was at the forefront of Conor McGregor’s mind, and he delivered in a big way — although there was an early scare.

A former WWE and NXT tag team champion as a member of Authors of Pain, Selmani faced Daniel Curtin in a heavyweight matchup at BKFC Newcastle on Saturday. “The Albanian Psycho” picked up a second-round knockout victory after dropping Curtin four times in the contest.

Selmani sparked a big exchange early on and was looking fantastic, but Curtin landed a shocking knockdown out of nowhere. Selmani was able to get back to his feet, and then the tides turned in a massive way, as he knocked Curtin down three times, while opening up a huge cut on his opponent. The third knockdown was right at the bell and Curtin managed to beat the count.

At the start of the second round, Selmani continued the attack and knocked Curtin down for a fourth time. By then, the referee had seen enough.

Selmani then cut a wild promo that most television stations would censor for the entirety of it after being asked if he was happy with his performance.

“That’s a question for my coach. I’m here to knock motherf*ckers out,” Selmani said.

Before signing with WWE, Selmani had a six-fight pro MMA run, all taking place under the age of 20, competing for Bellator and BAMMA and compiling a 4-2 record.
