EX-LIVERPOOL star Fabinho seemingly tried to escape a red card by subbing himself off in a Saudi Pro League match.
The former Reds midfielder now plies his trade in The Kingdom with Al-Ittihad.
The Brazilian was anchoring Al-Ittihad’s midfield in their 1-1 draw with Damac on Tuesday night.
In the dying embers of the match, Fabinho stopped a Damac counterattack by raking down the back of Yahya Naji’s left foot.
Aware he was already on a booking and that he’d just committed another bookable offence, the 32-year-old immediately handed over the captain’s armband and trotted towards the touchline.
But referee Saleh Al-Turais was having none of it and followed in his direction to give him his marching orders.

Another said: “Fabinho thought he could glitch the ref system LMAO.”
And another said: “He didn’t try to sub himself.
“He just speed-ran the walk of shame to save everyone 30 seconds of arguing.
“Respect the efficiency.”
One remarked: “bro really tried to gaslight the entire stadium into thinking his shift was over.”
Another chimed in: “LOL, he had the king’s cake in the locker room.”
Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 following five trophy-laden seasons with Liverpool, a spell in which he won the Champions League, Premier League, EFL and FA Cups.
