Former PFL lightweight season champion Gadzhi Rabadanov has his next fight booked as he looks to bounce back from his first loss in five years.

Rabadanov is set to face Alex Chizov in the co-main event for the upcoming PFL Sioux Falls event scheduled in South Dakota on May 2. Promotion officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday.

Prior to his loss to Alfie Davis this past August, Rabadanov had been going on a historic run through the best fighters in the PFL at 155 pounds. He scored brutal knockouts over UFC veterans Kevin Lee and Marc Diakiese after previously wiping out former Bellator champion Brent Primus.

Overall, Rabadanov had built an impressive 12-fight win streak before he dropped the decision to Davis, who went onto fall to Rabadanov’s teammate and reigning PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov.

As for Chizov, he enters the fight off three straight wins while primarily competing for PFL Europe over the past few years. He scored a win over Connor Hughes via third-round knockout this past December after previously picking up victories over Claudio Pacella and Mark Ewen.

Chizov has a 13-3 record but he’ll definitely step into his next bout as the underdog going up against a buzzsaw like Rabadanov.

The new lightweight fight between Rabadanov and Chizov serves as the co-main event with local favorite Logan Storley competing in the headliner against Florim Zendeli.
