Ex-UFC fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik had the domestic violence charges against him dropped in Broward County, Fla. after prosecutors decided not to pursue the case after he was arrested in January.

Court files show that prosecutors dropped a pair of charges — a felony charge for false imprisonment and misdemeanor for battery — on March 6. The alleged victim in the case who identified herself as Rozenstruik’s wife filed paperwork with the courts in January asking for the charges to be dropped.

“Myself and Jairzinho Rozenstruik have been married for approximately six years with no domestic related issues, this is completely out of the norm for either of us as we’ve never experienced this before,” the letter states. “We have one child together, who’s four years old, we do reside together as a family with no issues. He’s in fact an incredible father and husband. I’m not in fear of my life. I’m not in any danger at all.

“I will [request] that this court drops all of the charges against Mr. Rozenstruik and/or to at least allow him to have non-violent contact between myself and him.”

The district attorney’s office ultimately decided to drop the case after the victim “refused to provide a sworn statement” and without their cooperation, “there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction.” TMZ first reported the news.

In the initial police report, Rozenstruik was accused of getting into a heated argument with his partner while they were in the car together and the veteran heavyweight allegedly slapped her hand “causing her cell phone to fall to the car floor.“ When she reached to pick up the phone, Rozenstruik allegedly struck her hand again and “grabbed her by the arm to prevent her from leaving the vehicle.”

The victim then told police she “punched” him several times in the head and as the argument continued she allegedly called him a “nasty beast.” In response, the victim told police Rozenstruik got angry and “he allegedly actually and intentionally bit her right bicep against her will.”

Police stated that Rozenstruik was “uncooperative and did not want to provide any further
information” when authorities spoke to him. He was ultimately arrested and hit with a pair of charges before being released on bail.

In the end, prosecutors decided not to move forward with the case and the charges were dropped. The case is now considered closed.

The 37-year-old heavyweight spent six years competing in the UFC before he was removed from the roster in 2025 and he most recently scored a pair of wins in Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing promotion.
