Darren Till is set to make his BKFC debut.

Earlier this month, Till announced that he was leaving Misfits Boxing to sign with BKFC, with the plan being to make his debut later this year. Now, we know when. On Tuesday, BKFC announced that Till will debut on May 30, taking on influencer boxer and BKFC veteran Aaron Chalmers at BKFC 90 in Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England.

A former UFC welterweight title challenger, Till left MMA in 2022, transitioning to boxing. Across exhibition matchups, Misfits bouts, and traditional boxing, “The Gorilla” has won all four of his contests inside the squared circle, most recently knocking out Luke Rockhold last August.

Originally reticent to join BKFC, Till told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday that he simply couldn’t turn down this BKFC offer.

“I have to just say, the reason Bare Knuckle happened is because I couldn’t turn down the offer,” Till said. “It was irrefusable. … It excited me. It got me juices flowing. It’s a tough old sport from what I’ve been watching. It is tough. These guys, they’re not your traditional martial artists. They’re all just very gritty, hard-punching guys. So, you’ve got to come in here with a different type of mentality, which we will be doing.”

A man who has experience in this realm is his future opponent, Chalmers. A former reality TV star, Chalmers took up MMA in 2017, amassing a 5-2 record across BAMMA and Bellator before, like Till, competing in multiple boxing venues. Most recently, Chalmers moved into bare knuckle, stopping Chas Symonds at BKFC 72 last year.
