MASON GREENWOOD has received support from several current and former Manchester United players after his Champions League heroics with Marseille.
The former Carrington forward claimed the Player of the Match award against Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday evening after scoring twice in a 3-2 victory.

Greenwood, 24, found the net either side of half-time, bringing his tally to three goals across six appearances.
The triumph propelled Marseille to 16th in the standings after nine points from six matches.
Following the match, Greenwood took to Instagram to share a snap of himself clutching the individual accolade to his 3million followers.
And the post sparked reactions from several United stars past and present.

Former United youth star Anthony Elanga, who went to the same school as Greenwood in Manchester, led the charge by writing: “Keep it steppin!!”
Current Red Devils players Diogo Dalot, Joe Hugill and Ethan Wheatley showed their support by liking the post.
Fellow United youth defender and current Luton Town centre-back Teden Mengi added: “Yes sir!”
And ex- United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka – who put in a top performance in West Ham‘s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last week – also liked the post.
Greenwood’s performance drew huge praise from Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi.
The former Brighton boss said: “I think he’s one of the best strikers in Europe. But even he, when we’re leading 3-1, needs to learn to manage the ball, not to force things and not to lose possession.
“He’s a great player, but in those moments, I think he also needs to make the effort to hold onto the ball a little longer.”
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, his Marseille team-mate Timothy Weah backed Greenwood to get back into the England fold after the pair teamed up to beat Newcastle 2-1 in the Champions League last month.
Greenwood left United last summer in a permanent transfer after spending 17 years at the club, making the permanent switch to Marseille after a brief loan stint with Getafe.
United confirmed they received £26.6million for the sale and inserted a sell-on clause to guarantee a substantial portion of any future move.
Greenwood was accused of attempted rape, assault and coercive control in January 2022 – charges which he vehemently denies – before the case was dropped.
He was moved on by United following pressure from domestic abuse campaigners when the abuse charges were dropped in February 2023.
