Conor McGregor is ready to return to fighting, but the deal has yet to get done.

On Monday, posted an update to his social media that he later deleted, reiterating that he’s ready to come back, and that he’s been waiting for over two weeks for a contact (h/t Championship Rounds).

“Day 15 of ‘I accept, send the contract.’”

McGregor’s return to the cage has been an ongoing saga. The former two-division champion was scheduled to return to MMA last year at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler, but was forced from the bout due to injury. After that, “Notorious” shifted his return plans to the UFC White House card this summer, and recently posted that the UFC was interested in him fighting “a no name,” which he accepted.

This comes after UFC CEO Dana White declared that the promotion is no longer interested in booking McGregor vs. Michael Chandler. But, for what it’s worth, McGregor still thinks Chandler should be the fight, revealing as much in a comment on a recent Instagram post.

“It should be that, yes,” McGregor said, replying to a call for the Chandler bout in the comments.

McGregor has not competed since 2021, when he shattered his leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
