Renowned stand-up comedian Preacher Lawson got to share the cage with Sean Strickland in a sparring session, and it apparently went the way you thought it would.
During a recent comedy show, Lawson explained to the crowd that he enjoys training in mixed martial arts, and he found his way into Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. As the team sparring was about to begin, Lawson says Strickland went and sought him out.
“I think if Sean Strickland wasn’t an MMA fighter, he’d be a serial killer,” Lawson said. “The only reason I feel that way is because in an interview he said, ‘If I wasn’t an MMA fighter, I’d be a serial killer.’”
And then Lawson went into the sparring session with Strickland, that Lawson says initially began with the comedian wearing a “Vegan” t-shirt.

Strickland was made aware of the comedy bit and commented on Instagram, addressing Lawson’s claims that the former middleweight champ — who is set to meet Anthony Hernandez in the main event of UFC Houston on Saturday — hit him in the back of the head.
“Couple things: You’re big and black, I just assumed you were a badass boxer,” Strickland commented. “2. You kept putting your head down and the only shot was behind your ear which was clean. But I was right about one thing!!! You are big and black.”
Lawson then put out his response, which was more of a fun and friendly accountability video.
