A former UFC champion is returning at International Fight Week.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a bantamweight matchup between Cody Garbrandt and Adrian Yanez is set for UFC 329, which takes place July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Garbrandt recently got back in the win column with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 326 in March against Xiao Long. Prior to that, Garbrandt lost a decision to Raoni Barcelos at UFC Atlanta this past June, and was submitted by former flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300 in April 2024. Since winning the bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 in December 2016, Garbrandt is 4-7 inside the octagon.

Yanez had a hot start to his UFC career after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, winning his first five promotional bouts and earning bonuses in all five. Since then, Yanez has won one fight in his past five, including a controversial majority draw in his most recent bout against Ricky Simon at UFC Seattle.
