Chalon secured a victory in the fourth round of Group K in the Round of 16 of the BCL by defeating Joventut at home with a score of 85-77.
Jeremiah Hill had an outstanding game, finishing with 25 points and six assists. Grant Golden contributed 13 points along with six assists, while Clarence Nadolny and Zachary Cuthbertson both reached double figures with 11 points each.
On the other side, Ricky Rubio scored 15 points, Henri Drell added 13, and Ante Tomic recorded a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
In this match, as in several others this evening, the decision came during the transition between the third and fourth quarters. With a 10-0 run in that period, the French team pulled away to a 70-60 lead. They managed to maintain this advantage until the end, avoiding drama and becoming the first team to defeat Joventut in this phase of the competition.
Despite the loss, the team from Badalona remains at the top of Group K with a 3-1 record and will play against Wurzburg in the next round. On the other hand, Chalon has two wins and two losses, and will now host Unicaja at home.
