Normally, when you view a Joseph Brown bout, you see a boxer who establishes the range, uses his jab, his footwork, and lands sharp combinations. On the night of August 22nd, we saw a more aggressive version of Joseph Brown.
In the opening round of the bout, Brown stood in the pocket, threw the jab, and connected with shots in between his opponent’s shots. During the early part of the 2nd round, Wiggins changed the bout from boxing to grappling.
Despite the excessive clenching from his opponent, Brown was able to land solid shots to the body. Brown turned up his aggression in round three as he pressed forward, but Wiggins was able to sneak in a good right hand.
Joseph Brown responded by landing a sharp right to the body, and during the final seconds of the third round, Brown switched to southpaw and landed a double jab. In the fifth round of the bout, Brown started in the southpaw stance.
While in the southpaw stance, Brown connected with the jab, and when he switched to orthodox, he landed a couple of solid combinations. During the sixth and final round of the bout, Brown put his skills on display.
He landed the jab, the lead right hand, combination shots, and he did a little showboating in between. At the conclusion of the contest, Brown was declared the winner on all three judges’ cards by the identical score of (60-54).
With the victory, Joseph Brown improved his record to (8-0, 5 KOs). During a brief interview with Vince DWriter, Joseph Brown stated how he earned the win when he said, “I think my keys to victory were being smart with my shot selection, and pressing the action.”
Joseph Brown is a prospect who has no knowledge of losing because he never lost as an amateur, and he’s currently undefeated as a pro. As an amateur, Brown’s overall combat record was (67-0).
Between boxing and kickboxing, he won a total of six national titles, and he won a world championship in Muay Thai. Brown started his career with Mayweather Promotions, but he recently made a career-defining move.
During his interview, Joseph Brown spoke on his change of scenery and the challenges he faced leading up to fight night.
“I’m with PBC now,” Brown stated. “I feel good about my win. A lot was going on, like I got sick fight week, so I had to fight sick, and I also couldn’t warm up right because I had to switch my gloves last second because they gave me the wrong pair. Regardless, I got the job done.”
